Tribute bands in Chicago take on a life of their own, and when it comes to talking about the strength of the music one tends to wonder. But with a tribute to Led Zeppelin, you can feel the music is alive and can live on its own terms. Then when you throw in four accomplished female musicians, you just have to stop…in your tracks…and look again at the show that is Lez Zeppelin.
I am not exactly sure what it is about this band that makes people take notice. Is it the fact that it is a two piece powerhouse? Is it the matter of fact lyrics of the songs? Is it the slight-of-hand tricks of the drummer? Is it the maniacal moves of the guitarist? Or is it the fact that this will be their third straight year in a row at Summerfest as direct support to the headliners. Or that they have become a staple at the newly opened LaSalle Power...
